The dream is becoming a reality. After endless hours of visioning, planning, and rallying support, Remington is building a park to transform our community for everyone! The best part? We’ve already reached our minimum fundraising goal, a huge milestone worth celebrating.

And while the finish line is still a few years away, with completion set for 2027, the foundation is solid. This park is coming, and it’s going to change lives.

Why This Park Matters

If you’ve ever driven two or more hours just so your child could play on equipment designed for mobility and inclusivity, you understand why this park is so important. Right now, the nearest inclusive playground is over an hour away. That means many families here don’t have easy access to a safe, welcoming space where all children—regardless of ability—can play side by side.

This expansion to Remington’s Community Park will change that. With ground-level equipment for easy access, sensory features that spark imagination, and a landscape designed for everyone to enjoy, this will be more than just a playground. It will be a gathering place, a destination, and a symbol of belonging.

"Play is such a critical part of childhood," says Brienne Hooker, Executive Director of the Jasper Newton Foundation. "When we create truly inclusive spaces, we’re not just building playgrounds. We are building connections, memories, and opportunities for every child to feel like they belong. We are giving them a future where they can have a better path to learn, play, and be an important part of our communities."

A Community Effort

This vision has been fueled by the generosity of neighbors, businesses, and organizations who believe in what this park represents. Donations large and small have poured in, and recently, EDP and Lorentz contributed $50,000, with the potential for an additional $50,000 in matching funds.

Add to that the Jasper Newton Foundation’s commitment of a matching grant for the first $85,000 raised, and you can see how quickly momentum has built. Each gift, whether from a local family or a corporate partner, has brought us closer to breaking ground.

"One of the things I love about this project is how it reflects our community’s spirit," shares Jonathan Cripe, Town Manager of Remington. "This park isn’t being built by one person or one organization. It’s being built by all of us—families, businesses, foundations, and neighbors working together. That’s what makes it so powerful. This park is for everyone. It’s also BY everyone."

Where We Stand

The park's total cost is estimated at $2 million, with half of that coming from public fundraising. We’ve now met the minimum goal needed to move forward, a milestone that ensures the project’s future.

But the journey isn’t over. There’s still plenty of opportunity to make a lasting impact. Whether it’s honoring a loved one, supporting a business, or simply contributing what you can, every donation helps shape a space that will serve generations with this park expansion.

Looking Ahead

By 2027, the park will be ready to welcome families. Imagine the laughter of children playing without limits, parents relaxing nearby, and neighbors connecting in a space that truly belongs to everyone. It’s not just a playground. It’s a legacy in the making.

"When the ribbon is cut and the first kids get to rush to the expanded Remington playground, it will be a moment we’ll all remember," Hooker says. "This is about creating joy, and that joy will echo through our community for decades."

Join the Party!

The park is coming. That’s the celebration. But it’s also an invitation. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to give, now is the perfect time. There are still opportunities for expansion and making a more fully-realized vision come to life with Remington’s Park. That includes an expanded disc-golf course, a dog park, and more. Be part of the story, part of the joy, part of the community that built something extraordinary together.

This is about more than slides and swings. It’s about belonging. And it’s happening right here in Remington.
